Puckett, reelected but shamed, attempts to repeal Prohibition. The Rinaldi’s set out on a cross country adventure to kill Puckett’s backers, all while New York City police chief Ed Macintosh investigates the family, and the son of a dead congressman vows to avenge his father.

The Family Grows
May 1931. Franco is inducted into the family. Puckett introduces a bill into congress that would repeal the 18th amendment (prohibition). Holstein is called in and he earmarks 5 other congressman they may need to deal with. Salvatore and the gang decide to leave NYC, and place Holstein in charge of the bar. Meanwhile, NYPD police chief Ed Macintosh begins investigating the Livelli death.


Deep In Nowhereland
Helena, Montana. Congressman James Friedman is the first congressman on the list. Macintosh interviews Puckett. Puckett tells him to investigate the Rinaldo’s, he’ll find everything there. Puckett leaves and plants the pistol he used to kill Livelli and his opponent round behind the bar. Holstein is forced to hide from Macintosh, Giovanna takes over the bar. Macintosh investigates and finds the pistol. Meanwhile, Salvatore and Giuseppe infiltrate Friedman’s house and kill him, his son James Jr witnesses the whole thing, and escapes the house.


The Followed Trail
The Rinaldi’s move to Arizona to find congressman Lukas Polstrom. James Friedman Jr follows them, swearing to kill them. Holstein faxes them, telling them the Rinaldi’s were implicated in the Livelli murder. The Rinaldi’s send Franco back to support Holstein. James Jr comes across the fax and decides to follow Franco to New York. Giovanna and Holstein begin to clear the bar of anything bad. Macintosh investigates and begins to get suspicious of how the bar knows the NYPD are always coming. Franco arrives and the NYPD chase him. Franco manages to escape, with Holstein’s help as he diverts units attentions to a house fire nearby. David and Marco kill Polstrom. James Jr arrives in New York and begins looking for Macintosh.


Sworn Enemies
The Rinaldi’s move to kill a Texan congressman. Macintosh and James Jr meet up, Holstein becomes more paranoid while Franco tries to calm him down. Before the congressman is killed, he delivers a monologue to Marco and David telling them they are working for the real villain, Salvatore, the man who raised them will be the one to kill them, if they don’t challenge him. Marco and David initially laugh this off, but begin to believe it when Salvatore refuses to help the man’s wife and three year old kid. The congressman’s words will continue to haunt David and Marco for the rest of the series. For the first time ever they go to sleep questioning their purpose, in both the mafia and in life. Was everything worth it?


Puckett's Gambit
Puckett becomes stressed as he finds out his allies are slowly dying. Macintosh vows to protect him. The Rinaldi’s visit Arkansas, where they kill the congressman, but accidentally alerts his security guards, who alert Puckett. James Jr visits the rinaldo’s bar and studies Franco. James Jr makes acquaintances with him, on Macintosh’s orders. David and Marco talk about escaping the family, when Lenny walks in. The three talk over what the Texan congressman said, when David suggests Lenny runs away, as he has more to lose with Marla. Lenny is reminded just how much he loves and misses her, and starts to think of escape plans. David and Marco vow to support him, no matter what.


Running and Robbing
James Jr agrees to go rob a bank with Franco, James reports back to macintosh on his progress. The two rob the bank and fight through security, but strangely no NYPD on their way out. Holstein investigates the commotion and sees Franco coming out. Holstein and Franco shoot each other a glance, then Holstein leaves. James Jr is perplexed and reports this to Macintosh. Puckett believes there is a mole who knew where Livelli would be on the night he was murdered.


Franco's Failure
Macintosh believes he has enough to convict Franco. Meanwhile, he has Puckett investigate the potential mole. James Jr agrees to meet Franco outside of town. The set up happens, but Franco brought Holstein as back up. Unfortunately, Holsteins partner is there and recognises him, the 2 work their way out of the situation but Holstein slowly unravels as his dual identity continues to come under question. He and Franco drive to his, where he holds them hostage while he calls it in. Holstein manages to trick the neighbour into believing his partner is crazy, the neighbour sneaks in, shoots Holsteins partner with a pistol and is then shot by Franco. The two then blow the house up and run away as NYPD close in.


Meanwhile in Paradise
Florida, David and Lenny are sent alone to kill the last congressman, and on the way, come up with ideas on how to secretly get Lenny and Marla out of the crime game, where David jokes they may need to become FBI protected. Lenny takes this comment seriously however. The Florida police have seemingly picked up the hint after seeing the recent congress murders and the congressman now has the Miami Police Department details on him 24/7. Seeing no good opportunity, they follow him as he drives to Washington. DC. They send a letter to Salvatore which manages to reach him. Two days later, Salvatore arrives and the three manage to divert his security detail to a major boat explosion, where Giuseppe will reel them in. With the congressman all alone, Lenny kills him, and they flee as the security detail return. The Miami & DC police alert the FBI regarding the information they have in the congressman killers.


A Saving Grace
The act to repeal the 18th amendment fails to pass the senate. Puckett is left dejected and goes out for a night drinking. Holstein finds him and kidnaps him, bringing him back to the bar. Salvatore and co. return to NYC. Franco interrogates him. Macintosh arrives for a schedule meeting but finds there is no Puckett. Macintosh and the NYPD believe something and has happened and attack the Rinaldi bar. A full fledged shootout begins just as all the Rinaldi’s return. However, the shootout ends up being a perfect distraction as James Jr sneaks into the underground saloon and takes back Puckett. Macintosh is wounded in the shooting and the NYPD retreat. Salvatore finds Puckett gone is furious. Franco and Holstein are reprimanded.


Cleaning Up Loose Ends
The family comes up with a final plan. Puckett, Macintosh and James meet at a bar, plan their final steps. James knows a specific place by the river Franco likes to go to. James Jr sets out and finds him. Franco knows it’s a set up and escapes, as the NYPD pursue. He returns to the bar where macintosh and Puckett intercept. The Rinaldi’s fight, while Franco and Holstein are sent to defend the saloon. Macintosh escapes to the basement where he recognises Holstein as the rat. After giving Holstein one final chance, he fatally shoots Holstein dead, in which Franco shoots Macintosh dead. James Jr shows up and the two stand off. James fires first and mortally wounds Franco. Puckett attempts to flee but without Macintosh’s support, he is a sitting duck. Salvatore kills him. The family rush to the basement where they find Holstein dead and Franco is bleeding out. James Jr leaves. Salvatore collapses to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably.
