What is Black Tax? When you're Thuli Dlamini, it means your father losing his pension and your parents moving in with you, and your cousin offloading her teenage son at your house.

To mark Sizwe and Martha's relocation to her house, Thuli holds a ceremony to alert the ancestors, where a goat will be slaughtered. This leaves Sihle in an awkward position.
First Day
Zakhele is newly enrolled in Sihle's school, and it feels like an alien planet. Sihle recruits him to raise money for a ridiculous cause. Meanwhile, Martha and Sizwe try to adjust to their new home.
One Meeting Away
Fed up with her brother's slacker ways, Thuli decides to help Menzi attend a party, so he can pitch a lucrative idea to a famous DJ. Martha fires Thuli's domestic worker.
Take Me To Church
Martha drags the whole family to church, where she's soon embroiled in competition with the head of the Women's League to collect blankets for charity.
What Goes Around... And Around...
James tries to exploit Thuli's blackness to gain more clients. Thuli goes along with the plan, under a few conditions, until she realises it isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Take A Parent To Work Day
To make him feel more productive, Thuli gets Sizwe a part-time job doing handyman work at her open houses. However, her dad's need to fix everything almost costs her a major sale.
Back To School
Instead of helping Zakhele with a school assignment, Sizwe ends up taking over. He receives a grade that an overbearing grandfather deserves.
Boots And Blackmail
After getting up on a soap box about the family overspending, Thuli is embarrassed when she falls in love with a pair of expensive boots and has to hide them. Menzi's back to his old tricks.
Night After Night
Thuli hosts night vigils for a distant relative's funeral. She finds herself in charge of a madhouse, a befuddled James, an extravagant Antonio, and her parents' arch-nemesis — the Buthelezis

Menzi's roommates have had enough and kick him out when he lands an opportunity on a reality show and excludes them. Homeless, Menzi squats in one of Thuli's open houses.
Sihle's Last Stand
After Martha ropes Sihle into helping her with her Women's Guild duties, the youngster's inner social justice warrior emerges. Menzi and Zakhele decide to go camping. Thuli tags along to keep them alive.
Time After Time
Zakhele's mother, Julia, blows into town for a surprise visit. She's Thuli's best friend, a former Miss Soccer World, and a complete mess. Julia and Thuli butt heads on what being a parent means.
