Long Time Coming
After a five-year promise to his wife, builder Bryan Baeumler takes on the challenge of building his dream home from the ground up. While tackling builds for clients, Bryan knocks down his house's walls and helps new apprentice Adam learn the ropes.
Good Foundations
With the foundation set and the framing going up, the construction site is starting to look like a home, but Sarah has other ideas. Her studio's end-of-season dance recital is coming up, and she has recruited Bryan to help build the stage.
Under Pressure
When a plumbing code change is thrown at Bryan, he struggles to keep this project on track. Delays mean time and money -- and now more than ever, Bryan needs to stay focused. Then, a prior commitment causes him to leave Adam in charge of the site.
The Perfect Storm
Heavy rainfall and bad timing during the build cause Bryan and Sarah's dream home to take a major hit when flooding wreaks havoc in the basement. Weathering the storm, Bryan still manages to pull off a surprise for Sarah.
Hit a Wall
Bryan Baeumler is feeling the pressure to stay on budget and finish the house in time when Sarah's priorities strike again! She and her designer Rebecca suggest changing the layout of the house, and Bryan can't seem to agree with their plans.
Decked Out
With the drywall complete, Bryan looks forward to getting started on the exterior of the home. Tensions quickly rise, however, when the measurements are off, the deck build raises issues and material orders face delays.
Lessons Learned
Bryan focuses on getting the backyard landscaping up to snuff. Meanwhile, Adam gets a lesson in building a fence, and Sarah learns the importance of proper budgeting.
Kitchen Conundrum
The Baeumlers plot out their ideal kitchen, but things don't go according to plan when Bryan discovers how much Sarah spent on the appliances. Then when Adam learns how to install hardwood flooring, Bryan discovers a serious flaw.
Mancave Mayhem
Not content with the usual big screen TV, Bryan installs a home theatre in his personal mancave. Then, he builds a private steam room using soap stone and a lot of Adam's hard labor.
Shady Secrets
Bryan begins work on the final part of the house: the main bedroom. Bryan and Adam install a fireplace and tile the bedroom wall, Sarah and Rebecca try to sneak in a paint color and some quick thinking is needed to help the tub fit in its space.
Dirty Laundry
Rebecca acts as the referee when Bryan and Sarah can't agree on how the laundry room should be laid out. Meanwhile, the staircase arrives, and the Baeumler family must move in with the in-laws.
Sarah's Surprise
With the house almost done, Sarah comes up with a plan to surprise Bryan in the garage. Then as furniture begins to arrive, Bryan finally gets to see what Sarah has been buying over the last few months.
Finished Product
After six months, everyone's hard work on the house comes to an end! Bryan and Sarah reminisce about the build as they reveal each room of the finished home.
